Joplin High School Softball was established in 1995. Since 2001, the team has claimed 12 conference titles, with the most recent victory in 2024.
Tryouts & Games
JHS hosts tryouts in August, marking the start of the fall season. The purpose of tryouts is to select athletes for both Varsity and Junior Varsity teams through a process that includes skill drills—such as hitting, fielding, and pitching—along with conditioning tests and coach evaluations. JHS competes in the Class 5 District 7 within the Central Ozark Conference (division west). Home games are played at the Joplin High School Softball Complex, located on the south side of the high school at 2104 S. Indiana Ave, Joplin, MO.
Summer Camps and Activites
Summer activities are offered for incoming 9th -12th grades which includes practices, weights, tournaments, and scrimmages. JHS players also assist with elementary and middle school camps. These bridges between older and younger players help develop future talent and strengthen community ties.
Paige Neal/Christina Freeman Invitational
The Lady Eagles host the Paige Neal/Christina Freeman Softball Tournament in late August. The twelve-team tournament draws local teams as well as teams from the Kansas City and Columbia areas. The tournament is played on the softball fields at the Joplin Athletic Complex.
Summer Camps
Summer camp opportunities are offered for 9th – 12th grades. JHS players also assist with elementary and middle school camps.
