Girls Tennis

JHS Tennis-Girls

Eagle Pride runs high throughout the tennis program at Joplin High School. The 2005 girls' team boasts the first Southwest Missouri Girls' State Singles Champion Melissa Hoffmeister. State level play in both single and doubles, and team district honors have been obtained in the past and will continue to be a goal for each season.

Tryouts & Practice
The girls’ tennis season is in the fall with tryouts and practice starting the middle of August.  Girls, 9-12th grade, may try out for the team.

The Varsity squad will consist of the top six players who have successfully attended all try-out practices and competed in a team challenge tournament where each player is ranked according to his/her position on the challenge ladder. The rest of the players make up the JR. Challenge matches to move up or down the ladder occur throughout the season. Team uniforms and warm-ups will be issued, with players furnishing their own racquets and shoes.

Matches
The season consists of 12 duals and 6 tournaments. Home matches are held on the tennis courts, on the South end of the campus, at Joplin High School.

Summer Camps
Team Camp and other activities are offered throughout the summer.
